Moissanite is a budget friendly alternative to a natural diamond. Moissanite is a near-colorless gemstone that’s composed of silicon carbide. First discovered by Henri Moissan, a French scientist, moissanite was originally found in the crater left behind by a fallen meteor. Moissanite today is made in a laboratory due to their extreme rarity. They are a very hard and durable stone, only a diamond is harder than moissanite.
